The top of Mount Bisoke is on the border of Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo. At an altitude of 3700 meters, one can find a lake on top of this volcano.
When Thomas hiked his way up towards the lake, the mountain was covered in a thick cloud. He had heard that due to weather you often have to hike up several times in order to get a glimpse of the lake, Thomas had this one chance, and he desperately wanted to capture the lake without the clouds. He waited for a while but the clouds were not moving so he asked his guide for permission to hike further up the mountain. When he reached the top the clouds parted for just a few minutes, and he got the clear view he had been waiting for. The light was perfect and he took this photo looking over the Congolese side of the mountain.
